How Should a Tattoo Studio Package Aftercare Kits and Merchandise?

A tattoo appointment can end with more than a receipt. The studio may hand over a sealed aftercare kit, printed instructions, an appointment or contact card, a sticker, an art card, or purchased merchandise. When those pieces leave the counter separately, the client can miss an instruction or staff can improvise a different presentation each time.

Use a non-woven tote only as the outer take-home carrier. Keep every aftercare or retail product in the sealed, labeled primary packaging approved for that item. Then build one completed handoff, measure its finished width, height, and depth, and approve the smallest exact tote that preserves the contents and gives staff a repeatable release.

Define what the outer bag does—and does not do

The tote organizes completed packages and printed information for the trip home. It does not contain a liquid, preserve product hygiene, replace a carton or seal, provide medical guidance, or prove that a product is suitable for a client. Those decisions belong to the studio’s qualified professionals and the product’s own instructions and requirements.

Create a simple eligibility rule. Only sealed retail products, completed kits, current studio instructions, and clean merchandise approved for the handoff may enter the tote. Route opened, damaged, leaking, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable items outside this packaging process. Keep any product that requires a specific orientation or protective carton in that approved condition.

Build three completed studio handoffs

Choose real combinations from the studio rather than a generic list of possible gifts. Freeze every layer the client actually receives, including cards, boxes, pouches, tissue, receipts, and merchandise packaging.

  • Compact information handoff: a sealed compact kit or packaged item with the current instruction card and contact details.
  • Mixed retail handoff: one or more sealed products plus cards, a sticker, art card, or another flat studio extra.
  • Merchandise-inclusive handoff: the completed kit plus a folded studio T-shirt or other clean, approved merchandise in its required presentation.

Measure the relaxed outside width, height, and depth of each complete handoff. Record the permitted orientation and the location where the instruction card must remain easy to find. If one product must stay upright, do not tilt it merely to make a preferred bag pass.

Use the three sizes as rejection screens

The exact product lists Small at 23 × 25 × 10 cm, Medium at 33 × 34 × 10 cm, and Large at 44 × 42 × 12 cm. Small and Medium share a listed 10 cm depth. Moving to Medium adds face area but does not correct a handoff whose completed depth exceeds the practical opening or available space.

Use Small as the first screen for a compact completed unit. Screen Medium when flat instructions, multiple contained items, or a folded merchandise layer require more width or height. Test Large only when the finished handoff proves it needs the larger face or its 12 cm listed depth. These dimensions do not establish usable internal clearance, carrying capacity, protection, or product suitability; the exact row still needs a physical trial.

Rehearse the complete client handoff

  1. Load: place every sealed package in its approved orientation without forcing a rigid corner or compressing a carton.
  2. Position: keep the instruction card flat and visible enough for the client to find without emptying the bag.
  3. Check the opening: confirm the top edge, visible center fastener, and handles are not crowded by the contents. Do not force the fastener around a tall pack.
  4. Release: have one staff member explain and hand over the completed unit using the normal counter sequence.
  5. Repeat: ask another employee to rebuild the same unit from the written rule. Record the first difference or correction.

A bag fails the workflow when staff must invent a diagonal loading trick, hide the instruction card, change a product’s permitted orientation, or leave a required package behind. A successful dimensional fit is still separate from any relevant packed-weight requirement, which should be recorded and confirmed for the exact construction.

Choose the visual role only after the pack-out passes

The listing offers Matcha Green Plain, Matcha Green — Puppy Print, and Matcha Green — Small Floral Print across the same three sizes and two ready-made pack tiers. The plain style can keep the studio card or merchandise as the leading identity. A decorative style may suit a specific campaign or audience, but the printed message should be reviewed physically beside the real kit and studio materials.

Do not assume a screen color name is a custom color standard, and do not treat the ready-made artwork as proof of a printing method or custom capability. First approve the operational handoff; then decide whether a ready-made visual treatment supports the studio’s identity.

Run a 10-client operational pilot

Every live Style–Size combination currently offers a 10 Pieces — Sample Pack and a 50 Pieces row. Use one exact 10-piece row for one named handoff family. This is a ready-made operational test, not a verified custom MOQ.

For each release, record the handoff family, included primary packages, instruction-card position, chosen orientation, opening or handle correction, staff deviation, and pass or failure. Replenish with a larger ready-made quantity only when different staff can reproduce the same result. If the contents change, reopen the pack-out decision rather than assuming the old approval still applies.

Factory control note: release the filled handoff

For a custom sourcing brief, replace “tattoo aftercare bag” with a controlled filled condition: eligible items, every primary package, finished packed W × H × D, permitted orientation, instruction-card position, tissue or insert, opening route, handle access, relevant packed-weight requirement, exact physical reference, test result, exception route, and approval owner.

Separately ask the supplier to confirm material, finished dimensions and tolerances, construction, fastener, handles, artwork file and placement, color reference, quantity, proof or sample basis, packing, destination, and schedule. When the ready-made pilot proves the handoff, use those records to plan a custom non-woven studio bag without treating the stock option as an unverified production specification.

Approve one repeatable client release

The right outer tote is the smallest exact row that preserves every sealed primary package, keeps the studio instructions accessible, leaves the opening and handles usable, and lets different employees reproduce the same release. Build the complete handoff first, prove it through ten real uses, and scale only the evidence that passes.
